They both hung up the phone and Bette quickly tried Tess’ cell but it went straight into voicemail.

Bette : hey baby it’s me I guess you’re busy at the moment so I’ll talk to you later. Love you

Later on that night Marcus’ lawyer came over to Bette’s house to prepare her testimony. He asked her a couple of questions the other lawyer could possibly ask her and helped with the right answers. She was completely prepared now and Brent told her she didn’t have to worry about it, it would be over before she knew it.

After Brent had left Tess called and Bette told her everything about the courtcase. They talked for quite a while before Bette finally went to bed.

The day of the courtcase had arrived. Bette was in her room getting ready when she heard the doorbell. She quickly went to open the door.......

Kit & Tess : surprise !!

Bette : hey Kit, ....babe? But what are you doing here? I thought you couldn’t make it?

Tess : hey baby, yes it looked like that at first but I found someone to cover my interview and after that I called Kit and she picked me up this morning.

Bette : how long did you know about this? And why didn’t you tell me?

Kit (looking at Bette with a big smile on her face) : Tess wanted to surprise you baby sis so who am I to ruin that for her. Are you ready to go?

Bette : yes almost, I’ll be back in a few ok

Kit and Tess went into the livng room waiting for Bette to return.

Kit : she looks ok doesn’t she?

Tess : yes she does but I’m pretty sure she’s nervous even though she’s not showing it. I really hope this circus will be over soon.

Kit : yes you’re right and I hope that if Tina wouldn’t win today she won’t be going after Bette.

Tess : I don’t see how? They broke up years ago so Tina has definitely no rights on Bette’s child does she?

Kit : I don’t know kiddo normally she hasn’t but you never know with these court cases nowadays.

Bette : ok I’m ready can we go?

Kit : sure baby sis. Are you ok?

Bette : yes I’m fine Kit don’t worry

They all left in Bettes car on their way to the court; noone spoke a word, they were all wrapped in their thoughts. Tess was holding Bette’s hand and squeezed it once and a while just to reassure her she wasn’t on her own which was returned with a faint smile from Bette. At their arrival they were greeted by Marcus and Brent Marckx, both Bette and Marcus’ lawyer. Their case wasn’t due the next hour so they went into a little room to go over things once again.. A while later they were called by a clerk and went into the courtroom. where Tina was already seated next to Joyce. She quickly looked at Bette but when she noticed Tess she turned her head.

Kit : Tina doesn’t look too good and I don’t see her girlfriend anywhere...

Bette : no I noticed that too, oh well maybe she’ll show up later or she’s just busy.

Clerk : Ladies and gentlemen all rise, the honorable judge Reynolds will represent this court.

The judge came in and took place behind his desk

Judge : be seated. We’re gathered here today to hear the case of Mss Tina Kennard versus Mr Marcus Allenwood concerning a semen donation. Lawyers are you both ready to represent your clients?

Mr Marcks : yes your Honor

Mss Wischnia : yes we are your Honor.

Judge Reynolds : all right Mss Wischnia you may start your case.

JW : yes your Honor I represent Mss Kennard who is trying to get her rights back on semen that once belonged to her. She recently found out at the cryobank she no longer can obtain that semen because she is no longer the partner of Mss Bette Porter. No one found it necessary to tell her about this and she would like to get her rights back to what once belonged to her. In this case I would like to call Mss Bette Porter to the stand.

Judge : Mss Porter can you please approach the stand.

Bette approached the stand, swore to tell the truth and took a seat, nervously wrapping her hands together. She took a look at her family who were all giving her a look of it will be all right don’t worry and that made her feel a little more comfortable.

Joyce : Hello Mss Porter how are you

Bette : I’m fine thanks

Joyce : I see you are pregnant, how far along are you?
