Bette was smirking while watching her blonde bed partner before her try and compose herself. She continued to periodically nuzzle Tina’s stomach, caressing it. She glanced up at Tina and the blonde got a soft smile on her face, both women thinking about their baby that they will never know. Bette leans down and places the softest kiss on Tina’s stomach.

“I’m sad that we will never know him, but I-I think, I mean, when you’re ready, I would love to try again.” As Bette said the words, she realizes that the words are very much real and very much true. She wanted a family with Tina, she wanted to be with Tina for the rest of her life, and she wanted to make sure that Tina was well aware of how she was feeling.

Tina cupped Bette’s face and urges her upward so she could kiss Bette. As their tongues tangled and caressed the other, Tina moved Bette on to her back. She straddled the dark haired beauty around her waist and stared at her wife. She traced her wife’s features with her gaze taking in her mocha skin, curly dark hair, and set chin. ‘God I love that chin. When did we get so disconnected?’ She thought, continuing to stare intensely at Bette. Bette wasn’t sure where Tina’s mind was, so she had begun to feel a little uncomfortable with such an intense stare. The blonde leaned over Bette and brushed their breasts together, causing their nipples to rub against one another. Bette involuntarily closed her eyes at the sensation and gasped at the feeling.

Tina moved completely forward holding causing Bette’s eyes to open and for the two women to continue their intense look at one another. As Tina’s stare intensified Bette’s eyes filled with tears. She immediately wrapped her arms around Tina and buried her head into the nook of Tina’s neck. Tina readjusted her position and held Bette, who was silently crying, trying to calm her down.

“Baby, shhhh..it’s ok. We will get through this together.”

“Tee..I have to tell you something…” Bette stammered out over her tears. Tina tensed slightly, she pulled back to look at Bette’s eyes that held so much anguish in them.

“Whatever it is, we can get through this babe.” The blonde replied trying to encourage Bette without pushing too much. It was a fine line with Bette as to where encouragement stopped and pushing started and Tina used to know it like the back of her hand, but recently she didn’t think she would have know where that line was if she was smacked upside the head with it.

“When y-you were pre-preg-nant, I started to question everything. My life, my job, you, our commitment, our family, if I would be a good mother. Everything. I know that was why he was taken wasn’t it? It was because I second guessed everything?” Bette sobbed. Tina’s body tensed even more at Bette’s confession, but reality is, is that most first time parents do second guess themselves and their ability. Tina knew she couldn’t dwell on the past if she wanted to repair what was going on with them, she knew that in order to survive with this woman whom she loved like no other, she had to look to the future. Tina let out a soft sigh, as she thought about how easy it was to let Bette take over their relationship and make all the decisions. ‘Of course she was second guessing everything, she didn’t feel I would participate.’

“Shhh..baby, it ok.” As she continued to rock her devistated wife in her arms, “I have a question for you.” Tina implored.

“W-what?” Bette managed to squeak out.

“Do you love me? Right now. DO you love me and do you want to spend the rest of your life with me and our future children?” Tina asked, feeling some slight anxiety to waiting for the answer. Bette never faltered, she quickly moved up into Tina’s arms and cupped her face.

“I am more in love with you now then the day I first met you. I want very much to have a long happy life with you raising our children.” Bette responded, her tears slowing down. “I just didn’t feel like I had control and everything seemed to keep piling up.”

“Baby why didn’t you ever tell me?” Tina asked, the tears in her eyes that were pooling now making their way down her face. Bette traced Tina’s lips and then swallowed a few times to get the lump in her throat to move.

“I didn’t feel safe.” Bette whispered, “I-I didn’t think you would hear me. It seemed like whenever I talked to you about things, it went right over your head. I was scared to try and open up anymore.” Bette looked at Tina with a very scared expression at her last admittance. Tina was suddenly aware that she hadn’t done a very good job checking in with her lover the past several months. But Bette had not only told her how she was feeling and how she is feeling, she also told her that she was still in love with her. Before Tina could respond, Bette pulled back slightly.
