Title: Second
Author: Battling Bard
Fandom: Books / Silmarillion
Copyright: Me- steal and die
Content Rating: PG

Disclaimer:

Author's Note:

Goes against canon and written because I'm sick of Feanor slagging off Indis, and Finwe mooning over Miriel. I think the woman who bore Fingilfin and Finarfin must have been pretty awesome. Especially as their father was too busy with psycho Feanor to may them any attention.

Summary:

For who can, be he Elda, Maia, or shining Vala, ever presume to know the deepest depths of a person's heart?

Many there are that presume to know my thoughts and feelings. I would say who can, be he Elda, Maia or shining Vala, ever truly know the deepest depths of a persons heart?

They say thou shalt always be but second in my heart.

They are wrong.

For lo! Was it not thou, Indis the Fair, who wiped away the stain of Miriel Serinde from my heart and mind with thou warm, unselfish love?

It saddens me that none among my kith and kin shall ever know the sweetness of a second love, for it is thankful and joyous and sweet beyond imagining.

When I took your white hand upon Taniquetil, your golden hair radiant with light of Laurelin, a bond deeper and more meaningful than any I could imagine rose between us, binding my heart and fea to yours until the very ends of Arda.

They say thou shalt always be but second in my heart.

They are wrong.
